Polywool DuctWrap, the new generation of glass mineral wool made from up to 80% of recycled glass and locally sourced raw materials, is engineered to provide the highest insulation performance for building occupants to experience the optimum level of indoor comfort.
Recommended as a thermal insulation for the exterior of HVAC systems or other spaces or surfaces where temperature control is required. Polywool DuctWrap, meets typical industry standards for core and tensile strength, which makes the product more resistant to damage during lamination and installation. The flexible and light weight features allow the insulation to conform easily around corners and curved surfaces and is ready to be cut with die presses or a knife.
Sustainable product. Polywool DuctWrap, is free from CFCs,
HCFCs and any material with ozone depletion potential (ODP) in
their manufacture/composition content, which are harmless to
the environment. Polywool DuctWrap, is compliant with most
green rating tools including ODP emission credit requirements.
Air quality is unaffected with total volatile organic compound
(VOC) emissions below quantifiable levels.
Mould-free. Does not encourage growth of mould, fungus or
bacteria. Tested in accordance to ASTM C1338-08.
Non-corrosive. Chemically inert. Will not cause or accelerate
corrosion of steel, stainless steel, copper or aluminum due to its
specifically inorganic and mineral composition. Tested in
accordance with ASTM C665-12.
Less dust and less itch. Specifically engineered to produce a
comfortable and less dusty insulation. The insulation creates a
pleasant work experience by reducing the tingling feeling during
installation.
Alkalinity. pH 9.
Absorbs disturbing sound. Exceptional sound-absorbing
properties. Polywool DuctWrap, reduces the transmission of
HVAC noises such as air turbulence, popping and cracking.
Zero odour emission. Does not emit any unpleasant odour.
Tested in accordance with ASTM C1304.
Low water vapour absorption. Absorbs <0.02% by volume.
Tested in accordance with ASTM C1104.
Maximum service temperature. Maximum service temperature
of glass mineral wool at 450˚C. Tested based on ASTM C411.
Optimal fibre diameter. Optimal fibre diameter ranging from
4-5micron produces more air chamber which enables the
insulation to provide a better and enhanced performance.
Better fibre network. Fine, longer and evenly distributed fibre
network helps in creating better tensile strength allowing the
insulation to demonstrate superior durability, flexibility that feels
much softer.

PERFORMANCE
Fire safety properties. Tested in accordance with:
AS/NZS 1530.3:1999 Methods for Fire Tests on Building Materials
ISO 5660-1:2015 Reaction-to-Fire Tests
Part 1: Heat Release Rate (HRR) and Smoke Production Rate
Thermal conductivity. Complies with AZNZ 4859.1.2018 at 15°C
mean temperature. Please refer to the table on the thermal
resistance values.
Acoustical performance. Not only an effective thermal insulation,
Polywool DuctWrap, acts as a natural and effective sound barrier.
Polywool DuctWrap, is amongst the most effective acoustic
insulation solutions when sound proofing is required. Please contact
PGF Insulation representative for further information.
Factory laminated facing. Polywool DuctWrap is factory-laminated
with a vapor barrier facing using specialized adhesive, providing a
proven solution for exterior insulation of HVAC systems. This ensures
effective thermal performance, reduces the risk of condensation,
and enhances the durability of the HVAC system.
